Machine learning is called machine learning because it describes the process by which machines learn from data, adapt, and evolve. The term was coined in 1952 by Arthur Samuel, an IBM employee and pioneer in artificial intelligence and computer gaming.

Machine learning is a way to use artificial intelligence (AI) to teach computers to learn without being explicitly programmed. Instead, computers are given large amounts of data and allowed to learn from it through experience. The more data a machine learning algorithm is given, the more confident it can be in predicting outcomes
